Strange but true - tanned tilapia - yes! - the fish!  These tanned hides are approximately 3-4 inches wide (top to bottom, the short width).  Every one is slightly different in coloring, pattern and overall shape.  Beautiful scale  pattern..  Best when sewn with glover's needles.  Black color.
